Introducing The Concrete5 Testimonials Package

CMS, Web Development, Work

*Edit*: Just submitted version 1.2 to the Concrete5 Marketplace. This version now includes a wysiwyg editor, so you can now style your text, add images and customize the testimonial as much as you like.

It also includes a new optional content textbox to add additional information below the testimonial. View the updated screenshots below!

*Edit*: The Concrete5 Marketplace has finally approved my submission. You can now purchase and install the Concrete5 Testimonials Package direct through your concrete5 install. I will be releasing an unlimited developers license that will be available here soon.

The Testimonials Package is a full featured Concrete5 Package.

    Great!

Would it be possible to translate it in french?

    Thanks.

  5. defunct says:

@Ymne Right now concrete5′s multilanguage capabilities are still in the works. You could translate it by hand by editing the code however, but every string is encapsulated into the concrete5 t() (translate) function for when they perfect their multilanguage vision.

Hi, I’m wondering if there’s a way to have the page load random testimonials when the page reloads.

    Thanks.

  8. defunct says:

@Spark, are you talking about the testimonials single page or the block?

  9. spark says:

Hi I think it’s the block. I just want a little testimonial box on my home page that reloads or cycles through testimonials somehow. Thanks for the quick response.

  10. defunct says:

    @Spark

The block already loads a random testimonial on page load, that’s actually all it does :)

  11. spark says:

    Got it, thanks so much!

  12. jesse says:

say i have a bunch of testimonials–can it randomly cycle/rotate through them (without reloading the page)??? so every 3 or 4 seconds it displays a new testimonial…

    if so, i’m sold.

  13. defunct says:

At the moment it can’t do that but that would be a cool feature to add.

I’ll look into it for a future update for sure.

Yo Need to know how to create a link in the Optional Content area. I tried just using straight html but that did not work. I am using the 5.4 v of C5. Thx.

  15. defunct says:

    @chris.

It says it in text above the optional content:

“The content entered here will be displayed below the author. Links that start with http:// will automatically link to their respective site. This is useful for adding additional content like Title, Country and Website for example:”

Just put the link as http://www.defunctlife.com it automatically parses it into a hyperlink.

purchased your plugin and cannot make it work.
Spent a really long time trying to make it work.
Can you help me get it running?

  17. defunct says:

Hi there, please send me a private message on the concrete5 forums with actual details of your problem so I can help you instead of “cannot make it work”.

  18. LWR says:

Wow! I really like the Testimonial addon – I do have a question though. I am wanting to change the font style, color and alingment but I’m unable to do so when in edit mode in the Testimonials. Have any hints for me? Otherwise the addon is just what I was looking for and I know my client will be very pleased with it. Thanks for your response.

  19. defunct says:

    Hi there,

You need some basic CSS skills and edit the CSS file included with the package. Check the help page from the testimonials dashboard page for further information.

  20. Rafael says:

Is there a way for that block to pull only the chosen snippet of the testimonial with a read more link.

This would help greatly because I need the block to be a certain size on the footer.

  21. dave says:

Just downloaded and cannot for the life of me figure out how to get to the page where i add the testimonials! Please help!

  22. Lynda says:

Same thing as Dave. I purchased this and thought I downloaded it but now can’t find it!

  23. defunct says:

Hi Lynda and Dave. Please use the support section on http://concrete5.org to get support. You can re-download the file there. To add testimonials you sign into the Dashboard, and use the dashboard page “Testimonials” to add them.

  24. Lynda says:

I don’t see the support section where I can re-download the file, nor in my dashboard. I’m new at this so probably just missing it.
